History
The Karyn Kupcinet Playhouse or KKP was a theater on the Mount Carroll campus of Shimer College. It was constructed in 1967, using funds donated by Irv Kupcinet and friends in memory of his murdered daughter Karyn Kupcinet.

Dozens of people came in on buses from Chicago to be a part of the opening ceremony.

The Karyn Kupcinet Playhouse is officially dedicated at Shimer College (Shimer School of Great Books), Mount Carroll, Illinois. The 250-seat theater is named after the daughter of Sun-Times columnist Irv Kupcinet, who was a Hollywood actress until her death at age 22.
